1Our commitment
619Labs is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone, and apply the relevant accessibility standards to our own website, our client portal, and the websites we build and operate for our clients.
We treat accessibility as a baseline engineering standard — not an add-on, plugin, or compliance checkbox. Every component in our design system is built with semantic HTML, ARIA where necessary, full keyboard support, and color-contrast verification before it ships.
2Standards we follow
This site is designed to substantially conform to the following standards:
- Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA — our primary conformance target.
- Section 508 of the U.S. Rehabilitation Act (revised) — applicable when working with federal-government-related clients.
- EN 301 549 — the harmonized European accessibility standard.
- WCAG 2.2 Level AAA — we adopt AAA criteria where they don't conflict with usability for the majority of users.
"Substantially conforms" means most content fully meets the standard with a small number of documented exceptions (see Known limitations).
3Accessibility features
3.1 Visual
- Color contrast ratios meet or exceed WCAG AA (4.5:1 for body text, 3:1 for large text and UI components);
- Text is resizable up to 200% without loss of content or functionality;
- No content depends on color alone to convey meaning;
- Honors
prefers-reduced-motion— animations and parallax effects are disabled for users who request reduced motion at the OS level; - Honors
prefers-color-scheme— light and dark themes adjust automatically.
3.2 Keyboard & focus
- All interactive elements are reachable and operable with a keyboard;
- Visible 2px focus indicators on every focusable element;
- "Skip to content" link as the first focusable element on every page;
- Logical tab order matches visual reading order;
- No keyboard traps in modals, accordions, or carousels.
3.3 Screen reader & semantic markup
- Valid, semantic HTML5 — headings in order, landmarks (
header,main,nav,footer), descriptive link text; - Form controls have explicit labels;
- Decorative images have empty
altattributes; informative images have descriptive alternative text; - Custom widgets follow WAI-ARIA Authoring Practices;
- Page titles uniquely describe the content;
- Language of page declared via
langattribute.
3.4 Motor & cognitive
- Click targets are at least 24×24 CSS pixels (WCAG 2.2 Target Size);
- No drag-only interactions without a click alternative;
- Form errors are clearly identified and described in text;
- No content flashes more than three times per second;
- Time limits, where present, can be extended or disabled.
4Keyboard shortcuts
Standard browser shortcuts work throughout the site. In addition:
5Tested assistive technologies
We regularly test with the following combinations:
| Screen reader | Browser | OS |
|---|---|---|
| NVDA (latest) | Firefox & Chrome | Windows 11 |
| JAWS (latest) | Chrome & Edge | Windows 11 |
| VoiceOver | Safari | macOS Sequoia, iOS 18 |
| TalkBack | Chrome | Android 14+ |
We also verify with browser zoom up to 400%, voice-control software (Dragon NaturallySpeaking, Voice Control), and switch-control input.
6Known limitations
Despite our best efforts, the following limitations exist. We are working to address each one.
| Item | Issue | Workaround |
|---|---|---|
| Third-party calendar embed | Calendly widget may not fully meet WCAG 2.2 AA when embedded on contact pages. | Direct booking link is keyboard-accessible; email hello@619labs.com as alternative. |
| Some client legacy archives | Older PDF assets in client portfolios may not be fully tagged for screen readers. | Request a tagged version via accessibility@619labs.com. |
| Marquee logo strip | The autoscrolling client-logo strip on the homepage may distract some users with cognitive disabilities. | Hover or focus pauses the marquee; prefers-reduced-motion stops it entirely. |
7Evaluation methods
This statement was prepared using a combination of self-evaluation and external testing:
- Automated testing — axe-core, Lighthouse, WAVE, and Pa11y CI run on every build;
- Manual testing — full keyboard, screen reader, zoom, and color-contrast review for every page;
- External audit — annual independent WCAG 2.2 AA audit by a certified accessibility consultancy;
- User testing — periodic sessions with assistive-technology users recruited through our accessibility partner.
A signed VPAT (Voluntary Product Accessibility Template) is available on request for clients required to evaluate vendor accessibility.
